#MOMO (A unit of SOUL TOUCH): A Startup Journey
The story of #MOMO (A unit of SOUL TOUCH) began in 2015, when Ravikant Prasad opened his first small momo stall in front of a mall in Durgapur, paying a rent of just ₹4,000 per month. Driven by a passion for food and inspired by the rich Himalayan tradition of preservative-free momos, Ravikant's venture quickly gained popularity. His flavorful, fresh momos were a hit with the locals, and the business soon saw success.
However, despite this early success, Ravikant faced challenges in expanding his business. He had ambitious plans to grow, but due to limited funds, he couldn't immediately expand beyond his single outlet. By 2019, after careful planning, Ravikant was ready to scale up and open more outlets. Just as he was preparing to execute his expansion plan, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, halting his efforts and forcing him to delay the next phase of his business.
Fast forward to 2024
Ravikant's perseverance paid off. He has now successfully expanded #MOMO (A unit of SOUL TOUCH) with five outlets across key locations, including Kolkata, Siliguri, Asansol, Durgapur, and Jamshedpur. What started as a small venture in Durgapur has blossomed into a growing chain of outlets known for their unique offerings of 56 varieties of preservative-free momos and a modern twist on 172 authentic Asian-Chinese dishes.
Ravikant’s journey is a testament to determination, resilience, and passion. Despite setbacks, including financial constraints and a global pandemic, his belief in his product and vision for #MOMO (A unit of SOUL TOUCH) has led to a thriving business that continues to bring the taste of innovation and tradition to new places. We take pride in serving 56 varieties of preservative-free momos & 172 types of modern twist Asian-Chinese dishes.
